Scope of Research:
The postdoctoral fellow will conduct research on aspects related to disinformation, its impact on journalism and trust in the media, and explore ways in which investigative journalism may counter disinformation in African contexts. The aim of the fellowship is to contribute to knowledge production in the area of disinformation in Africa through publication and research activities.
Requirement:
PhD (must have graduated within the last five years or provide evidence of that all requirements for issuing of doctoral degree have been fulfilled). Experience in research and academic publication would be a recommendation.
Commencement of duties:
1 January 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Amount: R250 000 per year for two years (renewable)
- Postdoctoral fellows are not appointed as employees, and as their fellowships are awarded tax-free, they are not eligible for employee benefits. The University reserves the right NOT to make an appointment if suitable candidates do not apply.
- The two year-term is subject to the availability of funds and satisfactory academic progress.
